- Dr. Stephen Pu brought tears to the eyes of the guests who heard Leonard Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms," a call for hope and faith in the children and in the future. Featured as the boy soloist was Jaxson Glowacky from the National Children's Choir. Also on the program was a delightful Hanukkah song by local composer and long-time associate, Dr. Michelle Green Willner, "Light the Festive Candles;" and John Purifoy's Christmas medley, "Born a Savior, Born a King."

- Dr. Stephen Pu led the audience around the world in a musical journey, touching down on most continents. From the gypsy songs by Brahms to contemporary “Africa” made popular by Toto; with rarely heard music of Asia, the rhythmic “Bim Bom” of Brazil, and excerpts from “Anastasia,” the concert confirmed the bond of music shared throughout the globe.
Masterworks in March: Give Us Peace

- Three contemporary composers formed a concert devoted to peace, the dramatic “Dona Nobis Pacem” by Ralph Vaughan Williams, the mesmerizing “Agnus Dei” by Samuel Barber, and local composer Nick Strimple’s optimistic “Psalm 133.”

- The singers of the HMC just couldn’t wait to take the audience on a “Musicological Journey Through the Twelve Days of Christmas,” a humorous and educational piece. “Sim Shalom” (Grant us Peace) by local composer Michelle Green Willner, “White Winter Hymnal,” Lauridsen’s “Lux Aeterna” were also part of the concert.
