Dr. Stephen Pu brought tears to the eyes of the guests who heard Leonard Bernstein's "Chichester Psalms," a call for hope and faith in the children and in the future. Featured as the boy soloist was Jaxson Glowacky from the National Children's Choir. Also on the program was a delightful Hanukkah song by local composer and long-time associate, Dr. Michelle Green Willner, "Light the Festive Candles;" and John Purifoy's Christmas medley, "Born a Savior, Born a King."

Dr. Stephen Pu led the audience around the world in a musical journey, touching down on most continents.  From the gypsy songs by Brahms to contemporary “Africa” made popular by Toto; with rarely heard music of Asia, the rhythmic “Bim Bom” of Brazil, and excerpts from “Anastasia,” the concert confirmed the bond of music shared throughout the globe.

The singers of the HMC just couldn’t wait to take the audience on a “Musicological Journey Through the Twelve Days of Christmas,” a humorous and educational piece.  “Sim Shalom” (Grant us Peace) by local composer Michelle Green Willner, “White Winter Hymnal,” Lauridsen’s “Lux Aeterna” were also part of the concert.  Festive!
