HMC has always been an advocate of young artists and our new educational series, Voices of LA, is the perfect way to support the efforts of talented new musicians. At the beginning of this season, four student composers were selected to compose new works for HMC using William Blake’s Songs of Innocence as inspiration.
2012: Loves Me, Loves Me Not

Our program centers around Johannes Brahms’ (1833-1897) collection of love waltzes, appropriately entitled Liebeslieder Walzer, Op. 52. The work was originally performed by a solo quartet and two pianists but has become very popular with choruses throughout the world.
